20 Jun Road Congestion easing?
The Department for Transport has published its statistics for the first quarter of 2013. This indicates that HGV traffic levels in the UK were down by 3.8% against January to March 2012. With 3.7 billion vehicle miles involved, there are still an awful lot of trucks on the road, but the fall in volume demonstrates that hauliers continue to face tough market conditions. Whilst congestion may have reduced leading to slightly improved service reliability, falling demand will not help haulier profitability.
Supplychain21 has worked hard over this period to resist increases in price fromĀ our suppliers and to hold down costs for our customers. If you would like us to help use our network to reduce your haulage costs, please contact us at mail@supplychain21.com or on 01858 451781
