21 Sep Road Freight costs face pressure from driver shortages
A report released by Skills for Logistics has found that the number of people taking LGV (Large Goods Vehicle) tests has been reducing and that there has been a 31% fall in the number of tests passed in the last 4 years. This suggests that there may well be a shortfall in drivers in the years ahead which in turn would lead to upward pressure on wages and therefore haulage costs.
